ANTICA HIRPINIA · TAURASI
CUCINA IN CANTINA
The culinary traditions of Irpinia meet the fine wines of Antica Hirpinia.

THE RESTAURANT
A new way to experience Antica Hirpinia
Alfonso Romano, Benedetto Roberto and Ciriaco Bianco, the three owners of Antica Hirpinia, had long imagined a restaurant at their Taurasi winery. A place where growing interest in the area could be met with thoughtful, personal hospitality.
The idea was to pair the winery’s wines with carefully prepared, quality local ingredients and a fresh perspective. The winery already had a fully equipped kitchen: it was time to bring it to life.
The invitation was taken up by Antonio and Francesco Caggiano, together with Antonio Grieco, three young entrepreneurs from Sinfonia S.r.l.
The winery’s owners had met them during press tours, when their dinners in the reception hall of Taurasi Castle had been warmly received. That meeting led to the partnership. Today, Sinfonia S.r.l. manages Antica Hirpinia – Cucina in Cantina.

A TASTE OF IRPINIA
In the heart of Campania’s wine country
The restaurant is at the winery in Taurasi, in the heart of Irpinia, one of the most significant wine regions in Campania and southern Italy.
It is an ideal starting point for exploring the Avellino area and nearby Sannio, around Benevento, two places with a deeply rooted food and wine culture.
All Antica Hirpinia’s vineyards are in Irpinia. Here, wine tourism meets local cooking, small producers and the traditions of inland Campania.
OUR CUISINE
Tradition, with a contemporary perspective
The culinary traditions of Campania and Irpinia are our starting point. Local ingredients meet a contemporary approach, with careful attention to every preparation.
The kitchen’s proposals include local cured meats and cheeses, whipped salt cod and papaccelle peppers, fusilli taurasini and scialatielli pasta, and slow-cooked pork. Please check the available menu directly with the restaurant team.

FROM VINEYARD TO TABLE
Where food and wine come together
The dishes are accompanied by the winery’s wines: Taurasi DOCG and Aglianico, alongside Campania’s native whites, Fiano, Falanghina, Coda di Volpe and Greco di Tufo.
All come from vineyards in Irpinia, for pairings that tell the story of this land and of Campania through the glass.
AN EXPERIENCE TO ENJOY
Brindisi in bottaia
The pleasure of dining meets the atmosphere of the barrel cellar. Brindisi in bottaia brings together dishes and paired wines, agreed in advance and served directly in the winery’s barrel cellar.
